How does the Debt Snowball method work?
The Debt Snowball method is different from the Debt Avalanche, which looks at interest rates. Instead, it focuses on how people think and act. Here's how you can use your tracker to get the most out of this method:
- Start by listing all your debts from the smallest balance to the largest. For this method, you don't need to pay attention to interest rates.
- Pay the minimum amount on all your debts except the smallest one. Put any extra money you have toward paying off that smallest debt until it's gone.
- After you pay off the smallest debt, take the money you were using for it and add it to the payment for the next smallest debt. As you keep going, your payments grow and help you pay off bigger debts more quickly.
- Use your tracker to color in or cross out each debt as you pay it off. Visually tracking your progress can help you stay motivated and avoid feeling tired of the process.
