Zero-Based Budget Planner

Use this free printable zero-based budget planner to give every dollar of your income a purpose. Plan your bills, expenses, savings, and other spending so your budget balances to zero.

Zero-Based Budget Planner

A zero-based budget helps you plan where every dollar of your income will go. This free printable zero-based budget planner makes it easy to divide your money between bills, everyday expenses, savings, and other financial goals.

The goal is to assign all your available income to different categories so that your planned budget has zero dollars left unassigned. This does not mean you have to spend all your money. Savings are also part of your budget.

How to Use the Zero-Based Budget Planner

Start by writing your total take-home income for the month or budget period.

Next, list your expenses, including rent, groceries, utilities, transportation, and other payments. Add money for savings, debt payments, and future expenses.

Subtract all your planned expenses and savings from your total income. Your remaining balance should equal zero.

If you have money left over, assign it to savings or another budget category. If your expenses are higher than your income, adjust your spending plan until the budget balances.

This printable zero-based budget worksheet is useful for anyone who wants to plan their spending and make better use of their income.
